My girlfriend recorded some videos of our 5year old female RES and its love for reptomin shrimp treats. My turtle's name is Shelldon (later found out it was a female, but kept the name)

Split up into 4 short parts.

Cute! Is there usually a screen on your pond? Looks like she could walk right out!

the water level is regularly a lot lower than the video. right before we recorded the videos, i was actually trying to overflow the pond to see if she could get out. i was trying to lure her with the treats. she has a hard time grabbing onto the sides even with the pond overflowing. i wanted to see if heavy rain would be a problem. for extra precaution i am going to be building a fence around the pond.

Shelldon surely loves those treats! LOL
Thanks for sharing the video.
How many gallons is the pond? Where did you get it?
I like the idea of a round pond form.

Wow, your turtle is beautiful. So healthy.

That pond is so cool looking. I love the basking spot you made.

I love Shelldon's reaction to the pellet can, it's like, "OMG the shrimps!!! The shrimps!!! Gotta get shrimps! Gotta get shrimps! Gotta get shrimps! Can't get up here.... Gimme the shrimps human person!"

The pond is actually my aunts. Im not sure where she got it from. I would guess that she got it from some small chinese pond business. They probably ordered it from china, so i doubt ill be able to reference the name here.

Id say the pond is about 300 gallons. It currently houses my 5" RES, 5 large goldfish, and a young koi. Its a pretty good size for them. However, i am prepared to move the fish to another pond if they start to get too big.

My girlfriend has a rubbermaid 300gallon stock tank for her 2 RES, and its considerably taller, but not as wide. It houses her 11" female RES, and 7" male RES. She ordered it online for about 240$ (INCLUDING shipping!) from waresdirect.com. here is the link to the page.

Wow that's amazing! I'll have to remember that if we decide to make an outdoor area.

Do you both leave them in there year round? I would like to try and set up a pond for my turtles in the summer and leave them in there in the summer and then put them in a tank inside during the winter. But, I was only thinking building something in the ground, but I like your idea. Do you have a cover on it so nothing can get in?
