yeah I think that was the one. I know it was part of the attachment for the sink. In fact, now that i think about it (this happened almost a year ago) it was the cone thing that snapped and i had a heck of a time getting the broken part out.

If you have the link handy, I'd appreciate it. I've been meaning to replace it, just never got around to it.

Running the hose isnt going to be an issue with your parents, if they have an isue with anything it will be the placement of it. Just explain the idea, how it works and if need be show them the pics here. This setup however is meant to be a permanent fixture unless I move the tank to a diff loc so it's not something you can just drag out on weekends.

It will expand overtime and balloon up really nasty as your house heats during the summer. Thats what I first used...

Really?? That's interesting... Why doesn't it happen with the filter tubing?

Because filter tubering doesnt hold a sustained water pressure like a closed water line would sicne the waterline would only ever be open during a refill.

ahhhhh gotcha! Since I would be attaching this to my kitchen sink to use, I wouldn't have it attached all the time (just accessible) do you think there would still be an issue if I detached the sink faucet end when not in use?

If its something you only drag out when you need it then any tubing / hose would work. The setup as shown though is meant to be a permanent fixture so one only needs to turn the handle to get the water going for a refill then shut it off when done. Personally I wouldnt even consider doing a setup such as mine unless your going to leave it as a permanent fixture like I've done. In all honesty garden hoses are cheap compared to vinyl tubing and hold up alot better. I'd just splurge for the extra hardware and make it a permanent setup.

I'm thinking of having it as a permanent fixture, basically it would run out of the kitchen and into the tank. But it wouldn't be attached to the sink at all times. My tank is too big to require constant running water that's waiting to be poured into the tank. As of now, I only fill it every few weeks. This is just something I'm considering for convenience.

Just wanted to say I moved and between work and the other stuff I havent messed with the drain aspect of things yet. Just wanted to let everyone know I havent forgotten about posting it once working ;-)

In the meantime my first concern is getting my waterline / filler hooked up in our new home which BTW is still working FLAWLESS.
