Nope, the guy on top is a Mississippi Map Turtle.

The dude on bottom is a Rio Grande slider right? The fat yellow stripes and light colored red stripes make it seem that way to me.

Have their nails been clipped? They look that way to me. It's very unnecessary to clip the nails, usually a vet will recommend filing them down if it's becoming a hassle for the turtles, but not clipping them.

Phryne - Japanese bobtail, 9 months old
Hurricane - RES, 8 yo, 6 1/2 in. long
Typhoon - RES/Map hybrid, 8 yo, 7 in. long
Sadie - RES, 20 yo, 10 in. long
Sophie - Colombian red tail boa, 5 yo, 5 ft. long

oh yes they were clipped if you've read any of my posts you'll see i have a serious dislike of vets in regard to turtles so i stay away from them unless the problem is serious. i usually come here 1st. This is 1 of the reasons why including a dead baby turtle. i asked him could he check the big fella over and he cut them they werent long enough to cause him discomfort he was walking properly and all, now though i get them filed as they really do get in his way.
Rio Grande slider? Is that the same as a red ear. i hope so ill prob have to move sites otherwise.

They are like a cousin to the RES, found in Central America I believe...
