Well i went back to the guy i got my two small painteds from. He showed me this unusual clutch that just hatched. There western/eastern hybrids

Neat! They almost look like they have a bit of southern painted in there too with the stripe down their backs!

I love how you line the pictures like that, showing bit by bit the different in their plastron

Painteds are ADORABLE as hatchlings. I don't think they maintain that cuteness as they get older, though. I'm not fond of how the shells turn puke green...

Of course you took a turtle home, Painteds, how could you not?

Hurricane - RES, 8 yo, 6 1/2 in. long
Typhoon - RES/Map hybrid, 8 yo, 7 in. long
Sadie - RES, 20 yo, 10 in. long
Sophie - Colombian red tail boa, 5 yo, 5 ft. long
