Here is a list of things ive caught in the desert out near my house.

Giant Hairy Desert Scorpion

Image

Western Banded Gecko's

I find these guys alllllll over the place. they get pretty big. these are baby's that I had for a while tho...when i find them they usually become turtle or snake food tho..

Image

Image

Spiny Desert Lizard

These guys get HUGE and they get really mean...

Image

Here are some Southern Spadefoot Frogs. They dont get really big but man do they look cool! there eye's are cool and sort of look like a Green Version of the Hypno Toad from Futureama.

Bigger ones in here

Here is a Baby Western Diamondback that I had to kill sadly. He was too close to the house when I found him and i really had nothing to catch him with and since we have 2 5 year olds I did not want the snake to get away and end up in my back yard...so i hit it with a stick...

This is a Small Jack Rabbit I caught...with my bare hands :D

These guys full grown get HUGE and are like the size of a medium dog, not kidding..there freaking BIG! They are also called Jackalopes because when you see them for the first time you usually think you just seen some sort of small antelope (i did..lol) because of there huge ears and them being so big.

Image

someone who dug a hole in my back yard (more like 4 holes...there such pests out here. I feed them to my snakes sometimes)

The spadefoot frogs..are they able to jump out of the containers? and are they hard to handle?

When i had my gecko he used to allways hop out of my grip i cant imagine handling a frog.

my friend had a jakalope and it got to big for him to care for so he had to release it into the wild

i wouldnt wana come across its path now its probly HUGE

you caught that burmese python!? i wouldnt go anywhere near it 70 pound snake is just too big for me haha

Nah i didnt catch the python, i got him off craigslist for free actually and just wanted to throw him in there cuz hes huge haha...

The spadefoots can jump out of the thing but i had a top on it when i had them, there pretty boring pets if you dont have a nice glass setup for them. there sort of hard to keep alive too cuz there is not much info on the net for them so i duno [!!!] to put them in haha...dirt killed one i had and when i jus put water they dont look very comfy..so i dont keep them anymore..

and yeah i bet that bunny is huge now..that was a few months back its prob full grown now....

spadefoots spend like 99% of their time burrowed under the ground. that's what the spades are for - digging. if you are going to keep them as pets you have to have a significant amount of dirt for them to burrow into. they like to come out when there is heavy rain and the ground becomes saturated so that they can mate. if they get too dry they die because they respire through their skin as they are amphibians. at least, this is my understanding.

yeah they usually hide in holes that gophers dig. I have put the water hose down a few holes before and spadefoots come out.
