its 12 am on a school day but still i stay up either way. anyway at this moment i stumble by my tank and every time at this hour my turtles are awake. multiple reasons why. either there's noise, lights are on, lots of movement. alot of reasons. so at this hour i decided to take some photos of what they do at this time. remember its 12 AM. not pm.

Cute pictures :)

I think they stay awake because of the light. Mine are sleeping at night...well at least I know Kame is asleep! and Kroten hardly makes any noise at night so I assume she is sleepin too.

Both of them are in my room and I turn off my light at night.

Mine stay awake as long as the light is on too usually but sometimes catch some Z's while basking...when I turn the lights off, even the fish sleep..they just sit still at the bottom and dont really move...the fish in my room do it too, like my fancy guppys will lay in to little crevice's in the rocks as if its a little bed...but once that light is on....there wide awake..

Yeah Maybe Turtle and fish judge night and day from the light...so, if the light is off they think it's night and time to sleep.

Mine are also doze off at daylight but it's not an intense sleep like when they sleep at night (with the light turn off)
