This is toku a 6 mo. old Rio Grande slider. He is about one and a half in.

The white outline is calcium deposits from our water here. I have been able to clean the water and his shell isn't so bad anymore.

I took a new pic today you can see there isn't as much calcium deposits on him now. Here is his setup too.

Its a 25 gallon container. It works good for his size now.

He will be moving to Las Vegas with my wife when I deploy this fall, so my wife is going to get a tank for him to live in when she gets there. I'm thinking 6 ft or so, maybe 125 gal or 175 gal. We don't know yet.

Looks good overall! I'd be a bit cautious around that turtle dock and make sure he can't get stuck between the bars -- sliders are extremely inquisitive.

Thanks Steve, yeah I have noticed he swims through the bars and I have watch other areas like the filter lines and he has no problem getting through them but I will keep my eye out for that.

and make sure he can't use the horizontal bar as a ladder to escape ;)
