i'm concentrating on breeding one species and re-homing the rest of my collection.
I've got many eggs incubating and here are some pics of their momas and papas.
Enjoy and let me know what you think.

PS....I really need to invest in a better camera

Holy cow! Those are really cool looking, beautiful turtles! Are you breeding for those specific color patterns?

Do you still have Guiseppe's "mom"? All of them are gorgeous! DBT's vary so much in markings and color, even within the same subspecies.

I would love to, but it's mostly hit or miss. You could get all looking like the parents, or just a few.

Yes i do :) She's not in the pics though....I have a total of 9 adults now.
Yes it's so true...Colors do vary. The reason for it is that back in the 60's when people stopped eating terrapin soup, the restaurants dumped them in the ocean regardless of origin so they all interbred.

Lets just say i spent a lot of money this winter ;)
I also sold (and still trying to sell the rest) most of my collection, and just gonna concentrate on this one species.

:)

The first one is amazing, and seems to have some "texan" terrapin in her. The second is gorgeous in a different way. the third seems to have a regular northern carapace pattern, but the skin is that of a blue concentric.

Who do you think buys them? :)
I'm up to about 20 DBT with the ones i bought and the hatchlings i kept for myself from last year.
Sorry to hear about your DBT....$400 for both those turtles was pretty cheap.Adult concentrics with colors like the ones you had and these go for about $300 each.

Heh it was $400 with vet bills. They only cost me $250. The guy is replacing the one for free because it died within a week. Hopefully its healthy this time. So im not really out all my money yet. Im gonna see if i he can get me more adults so i will hold off on your offer for right now. Hopefully the 3 concentrics yearlings i got turn out nice.
