if that pleco is attached to the shell of that turtle i would be pretty careful with how long you keep the pleco in the tank. After the pleco out weights the turtle it can down your turtle.

And nice he has grown ALOT..its cool to watch them grow up so quick...

No what a pleco will do is damage the outer layers of the shell exposing the inner shell and allowing for bacteria and infection...

Correction: Yes, I suppose if given long enough the pleco could in theory eat a turtle... there isn't much organic that they cannot eat.

Ive never really seen my pleco doing that to my turtles but I have seen my little chinese algae eaters doing it.

damn, i thought he was just cleaning the algae spots off of filbert's shell! that kind of bums me out because the plecco has been a blessing in my tank, it's never been cleaner! (i mean, except for when i was emptying out ALL OF THE WATER and scrubbing it out with vinegar and water.) superman doesn't hang on him all of the time, so maybe that will make a difference.

He could very well just be cleaning the shell - just pay attention so that it isn't latched on for very long. I have 3 in my tank and they are great - just have to shoo them a little

i meant to say DROWN the turtle, not down. They can attach to the shell like so in the picture and be so heavy they out weight the turtle and it sinks to the bottom and before long you have a dead turtle because the fish just stuck on and didnt know what it was doing. when it gets to big you should take it to a pet store and trade it for like 2 or 3 smaller pleco's

He's a cutie! I have a Pleco in with Zeke who is probably at least as long as Zeke is, he rides on Zeke all the time and never had a problem. Of course Zeke weighs 2# so...I don't think the Pleco weighs that much.

Id say if your worried about a regular pleco getting too big for your tank/turtle why not go for a bristle nose instead, they wont get anywhere near as big.
