I heard back and while she was dry docked only antibiotics were administered. Still looking around town for a place to get some SSD cream but it doesn't look like its gotten any worst and might be looking a little better. She basks a lot :)

She seems to be doing well. She basked for like 7 hours yesterday. I've been keeping an eye on her with a webcam. Its funny because it looks like she's break dancing very slowly as she spins around on the basking area stretching her feet out and waving them around.

I just caught this picture. I wish I caught the frame before because her feet were up in the air too!

I am so tempted to find a video of a turtle basking, spinning around like you mentioned, and speeding it up so it does look like they're breakdancing! XD

But anyways, congrats on your new turtle! I'm so glad you adopted her. I can't believe someone tried to saw her in half! Poor thing. But she has a great life now I'm sure :]

I figured I'd update this thread rather then start a new one. So he shell is making progress. Its just taking a long time. The more she sheds the better she looks. The stuff that looks like a past fungus infection is getting better but her shell isn't clear yet.. She has some retained scutes which are making her shell look bad as its not sheding full piece yet.

So I was cleaning one of the filters today and I goofed up and a bunch of crap from the filter got shot into the tank which clouded it right up. So changed some more water and put some polishing type sponge in the filter to fix my mistake. I took her out and put her in a rubber maid tub with a tower and a light for heat while the tank cleared it self up. After an hour it was pretty decent again. Good thing because she hates being in the tub she just wanted out. Put her bank in the tank.

Heres the kicker.. She shed some BONE while she was in the tub today not scutes sizeable piece of bone from her slash. She has done this before just a small piece of dead bone I barely noticed it before just the fact the side of her shell changed a little big. This time it was large.

If you take a look on the first page of this thread you can see when I first got her. Now take a look at the picture below (The only thing I did was rotate the picture so it matched up better with the first picture)

whoops hit submit by mistake

Shes fine. Shes not bleeding, its hasn't changed at all (the main gash) same color and same smell. How many of you can say you smell your turtle on a daily basis? lol I do! I smell her gash to see if I can detect any signs of an infection. I'm going to keep a closer eye on her and that part of her but I think its progress as the bone under it is growing :)

Here's a picture of the piecec
