He really seems to enjoy kicking up the sand, I'm glad I got rid of the stone. I also upgraded the filter from a Exo-terra cliff filter (what a piece of junk) to a Fluval 405 (woohoo!)
The third upgrade I added was a larger basking area, I definitely notice him basking more often. I would like to add some tank mates, but he can eat three rosy minnows in a matter of minutes, I doubt any fish would survive his appetite.
Now we're working on feeding outside the tank, but he's still very skiddish.
