Well summer is almost here and I went over to the Sunland Water Gardens to pick up some plants for the pond. They have lots of small turtles(many of which were sick, but what can you do.) They also have a pond full of adults. None of which had any signs of recent injury or attack so yay!

Anyway, the guys there are nice and educated. Every summer a local rescue service gives them lots of turtles. There were so many in this pond. Every time I moved to another view, I would see a few more hiding inside the cinder blocks. There was also a HUGE female RES, I don't know why I didn't get any pics of her. There were lots of melanistic males as well. The pics below are of several different turtles.

WARNING. : The last 2 pics are of a RES that is missing its 2 front legs, one of the pics shows the bone. It seemed quite healthy though.

Awesome pictures!!!
Also, I'm jealous that your summer is close. Here in Massachusetts, it's cold and rainy and stupid out until like mid May.

Nice pics. I wonder what's going on with the shell from the RES in the 1st and 2nd pictures.

It looks like he's losing more color.

Couldn't tell if that was a fungus on her neck.

That might also be a bite wound. How big is that one in the last pic? He's definitely melanistic.

There are 12 turtles in the tower picture, can you spot them all?
