Wanted to share some photos, they are taken on my iPhone 3GS so they are a bit blurry. Sorry for that.

Are those all fake plants you have in there? The water is so clear. O_O

Nice pics :D .
I like your set-up, looks like my friends Blue-Tailed Firebelly Newt set-up(except for the dock). What I like most is the log :lol: . I like the ones than kinda stick out at the middle(like an upside-down U), so they can rest on it, or swim under it. Yeah, are the plants fake or real, I would assume fake, cause I know my turt eats any leafy green food in the water, even Amazon swords(last time I make that mistake xD ), but not the fake plants. :?

The plants are fake indeed...the try to destroy anything i put in their tank ;)
So i drop a piece of anacharis in the tank every day so they can chomp on that.

Nice tank! I like how everything is set up! I'd like to do sand in my tank but I'm afraid to go about it :mrgreen: Looks like such happy campers you got there :)

Thanks!
I was also a little hessitant to use sand, but i really don't like the "bare" look and i was reading so many bad things about gravel that i just gave it a try. I really cleaned/rinsed it well before i put in the tank. And now i really love it. And so do the turtles! I do have to even it out once in a while, since the turtles love to dig in it.

I will say it again..I LOVE your tank. Its so pretty! The sand is kind of a pain to rinse and put in there but once its in, its worth it I think :). I wish I could have plants in my tank. Not even the fake ones survive haha

It really is a beautiful tank. I think I'm gonna look into getting some sand for mine. Does it work well with most filters?

once its rinsed well it will settle and wont affect the filter (as long as your intake isnt super low). If you do it, make sure you read the Sand FAQ sticky..you'll regret it if you dont!

@ sflemin2:
Strawberry and Kiwi Bikini are still little so they can't do too much damage...yet ;)
They do try though, haha. Maybe when they get bigger i'll have to take out the plants as well. But I hope by then, that they will have lost their interest in the fake plants. Wishfull thinking probably ;)
@valladin82:
I totaly agree with the sflemin2's advice.
I always thought that sand would turn into mud or that it wouldn't be able to settle and make the water cloudy. But none of that happened with the sand that i used (Turtle/Riverbed Sand).

Very cool. I just read the sticky and I think when I upgrade the tank I will put sand in it. I like how theres different color sand too. Like bright green. O_O
