my turtle's shell has some uneven bumpy surface, could it be pyramiding? :(
but he can tuck in his head perfectly inside his shell, no sign of obesity.

I'm curious where you got those lamps, I've been looking for something like those.

your setup is great and your turtles look fine. i think that Broken Tail is unique because of her missing tail. as for the pyramiding, i agree, it doesn't seem that yours has it. pyramiding is not bad if it's only on the top part of thei shell. this just means that the turtle is being fed commercial pellets too much which can cause accelerated growth resultingin a deformed shell. but when it grows all around and deforms the over all shape it could cause problems. for example, i've seen toroises with pyramiding and their shell became so deformed that it needed to be hand fed for the rest of its life. the deformed shell prevents it from extending its neck to reach from the food.

Most turtles don't have perfectly smooth shells, but if you posted a picture I'm sure someone could tell you if it's a problem or not. Pyramiding is more than just bumps.
