This is all work in progress. The tank is setup very basic for now. We are moving in less than 2 months to a house, so that will give me more space to do some DIY stuff to decorate the tank.

This is pics with his old dock, light setup, and old in tank pump. I loved the look of the dock, but Spencer had gotten more interested in the taste of it, so it had to go. I can't complain to much about the old pump, cause it was really only for a 20 gallon tank max and not made to handle a turtles mess, but it did a decent job for a starter.

Pics with the new pump (CF400-UV), new light setup, and dock. Set the tank up on a more stable stand. Did away with the glass rocks in the bottom. I should have taken measurements before I ordered the large dock, because it is HUGE, but it will do for now and be great once I can get a bigger tank.

I've been keeping an eye on craigslist, hoping to find a good buy on a 40-50+ gallon tank.

So far so good! Looks like Spencer is gonna love the new setup. For a long time I didn't have much in my tank. It was only after I added some pool filter sand, probably about a year later, that I decided to add more decorations. Good luck with the move, I may be making one myself in about 2 months...leaving Atlanta for DC.

Nice job. Used tank prices should be less than $1 per 1 gallon for standard tanks.

Just a thought, you might not want the output over the basking dock...that is where he should be drying off. I understand your options may be limited, but maybe you can put the intake at the front left side of the tank, and move the output over to the right. Also, you should put the lights over the basking dock, so when Spencer rests he can soak up the rays. :D Just think, in two months you may have to do it all over again!

The dock is to wide to set it up any other way right now. I have the output turned so that the water flows down the back of the glass, instead of spraying right down on the dock. He has yet to utilize all the dock since I put it in, so far he has only gone all the way up it twice.

My bad, I didn't realize that when I saw the picture. :(
