I've used fishline to "sew" different objects together and it's worked well--won't disintegrate like regular thread.

I think you can buy galvanized nails, but I wouldn't want to put anything in the tank that's metal, especially bare metal (that's just me).

if you were not to use the styrofoam does the wood dowels still float?? .. im interested in your idea and may have to make one of course i will be using fishing line instead of nails .. (u dont want anything that can oxidize in water) i have a question .. where can u purchase those suction cups with the metal black piece to hold the wood dowels .. i havent managed to find any.. but your turtles seem very steady on the platform .. and it looks to me my turtle would finally have a secure basking area

can anybody tell me where I can purchase those suction cups with the metal black piece to hold the wood dowels and also known to hold up the zoomed docks?? plz answer back !! i need to buy them quickly for my turtle

well thats very generous of you but ill try looking for them a bit longer so i dont have to put you through some work sendimg them to me .. but thank you for the offer .. if i dont find them ill take you up on it ... and i think your only an hour away i live in mississauga

Couldnt you tie/glue small pvc pipe together if they were capped off wouldnt they float to make a dock? any suggestions? I like your dock.
You only get one ride around the sun.
