45 Gallon aquarium. The plastic bin in tank is to wedge and stabilize the basking cork bark to the side. The tank has been super clean for at least 3 weeks already with:
-Tetra Whisper Power Filter model 60
-I take the turtles out about 24 to 48 hours a week and let the baby pleco help clean
-Formula prevention- algae, chlorine, ammonia
No UVB light though and am taking that into consideration (invest or sunlight)

While the tank looks great and very clean... it looks a little boring as well. Try giving them some fake plants for resting on and hiding in (especially since it looks like there are different size turtles being kept together). And maybe a handful of river rock on bottom for them to push around.

Other than that it's a great looking tank. :)

Is your UVB shining through screen, glass, or plastic? All of the above will filter the beneficial rays.

That's a ESU UVB coil lamp? If so, which one is it? If it's the regular one, it emits relatively little UVB rays and from the picture, it looks like it's rather far from the basking area (plus, it looks like the rays have to go through a screen, which further weakens the UVB rays that reach your turtle). Is there a heat source (a light to warm the basking area)---the coil lamps don't really produce meaningful heat.

Nice turtles. I'd give them some river rocks to push around and some greenery in the tank.

Sonyj...soo that's what they do for fun. Sometimes i woudl coem out and find thigns totally rearranged in the tank...as if they had a map of how they want their bedroom to look. :-) I'll add a couple more rocks for mine.
