The glass pepple, while bigger than the head, have the potential to break and leave small glass pieces behind. I'd remove them. That and filling up the water and everything else looks good. I like your background!

Well KNow What?!?!

I heard it was a lil' more than the width of their shell when they are hatchlings.

When I first got my hatchling, I gave him only a few inches of water thinking he was too small for more, but quickly learned he/she can handle much more. Don't be afraid that he'll drown, they're excellent swimmers, even when theyre the size of a half-dollar... :D
Also, on the plus side, with more water it's easier to regulate the water temp, and it doesn't get as dirty as quickly...
p.s cute background

You should increase the tank water depth a little at a time if you're concerned. But I've read that the water depth should be at least 1 to 2 inches more than the length of the turtle if he were standing (including his head if it were sticking out) if you are unsure of his swimming abilities. Once that's determined, you can increase the water sufficiently so that he has a nice swimming area.

Remember that non-captive hatchlings will go straight into the ocean once they've hatched so they do learn to swim pretty quickly.

Another thing that you can do when the water level is raised is add some fake plants to rest on. Then when they get tired of treading water they can hang on.

Last night i filled the tank to more than half way. She swims every where now, and seems alot happier. I know, that she likes to be under water and still have aplace where she could rest on. So i got creative and i took her temporary container, filled it with dominoes (so it would sink) and now when ever she wants to rest and still be under water, she'll go on top of that. I'll post that pic when i get to it. I have also a video of her going into her corner to sleep.
