My babies were basking the other day...I guess one decided the other made him a bit closer to the basking light:

And this is the RES I got last weekend. I was told he was living in a 20 gallon tank, he is about 6 inches, and he had no UVB or anything. I don't even know if they had a filter because he was caked in goo from sitting in sludge I assume... :( For now he is in a 50 gallon tote with a dock I built this morning, he has a basking light and a 36 inch UVB light (took off to take the pics.) Hopefully this will get him through winter then he will have a large pond to live in. My 4 year old son named him Steve after Steve Erwin....:

the dock isn't totally done, I have to block the front sides to keep him from getting out, and the ramp needs more support and traction, but it's coming along.

Cool dock. What is the ramp made out of? For more traction, check out this idea Mr.ScratchTheRES had:

Keep an eye on him on the side of the dock until you finish it ;) That is an excelent basking area! I love those out-of-tank ideas :)

Turtle stacking pics are so cute! ^__^
