These are pictures I have taken of a variety of turtles/tortoises at the Riverbanks Zoo, The Alligator Adventure in Myrtle Beach, and the SREL at the SRC (all within the past few months).

Have fun trying to identify them. :) I'm actually holding a few of them (not the snapper, though!) I also apologize for the pictures with the blinding white hands. Apparantly I glow! :-X

Nice Pictures! that alligator snapper looks a little perturbed to be picked up out of his nice water!

That alligator snapper doesn't have to bite to defend himself - his looks alone are protection enough!

I think I see a RES doing the Superman pose in the lower left picture.

I showed these neat pictures to my husband and he said, after seeing the alligator snapper, that he's not going wading barefoot any more.

Yeah, the guy held him like that for several minutes and the thing didn't move it all. It was just waiting for someone to be dumb enough to put something in its way. :-P I really like the "flat" turtle, too. It uses rocks for protection! :)
