His name is Sam O. Nella.

My buddy left for college and had to get rid of this little dude, and he asked me to take him in, so I was like "Uhhhhhhhhh, okay." At first I wasn't too thrilled about the idea, but Sam and I have really bonded in the last few days, and now I intend to keep him forever and pass him down from generation to generation.

My friend who gave me the turtle said it's a RES, but it doesn't have red ears! Is there any other way to tell between a Red-eared and a yellow bellied? This is what its belly looks like:

Cutie! I'd say he's a RES. In the first pic you can see he has the orange stripes on his head.

Looks more like a Res in the other photos I think too. So gorgeous! Unique markings! You got an awesome baby there!
