Very nice turtle, and set-up, just make sure that the heat, AND the UVB lamp are aimed at the basking spot.

It looks like you have the UVB light aimed at the water. You want to aim it at his basking area, because most of the light will be deflected when it hits the water and won't do him any good.

Yeah, where did you get that basking dock? Is it made to fit a corner? I've never seen one like that, I like it a lot!

I think it's called the turtle landing, however, I have read reviews claiming it does not support much weight. I just found a link, this could be it: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_ ... 36842&Ne=2

I've had that dock know for about 1 week, it hasn't fallen off, and the turtle wasn't eating it...so it seems to work great...plus with the other landing docks they were made out of a foamy material..and when the basking lamp was directly hiting it ..it was burning it.. the reason i got this one is because its made of a plaster material..and i won't burn..but yeah he sits on it for about a few hours each day...and there hasn't been any problems...but i will get a different one when needed ...if its nessesary..but that one is fine thanks every 1 for the info though =)

I tried that dock, and it did not support my turtle, so I took it back. I got it at Petsmart. My turt is amost 2 pounds.

Nice looking tank. That UVB light needs to be closer to the heat source over the basking area.

Your turtle has some nice coloring. The whitish areas on the shell are just the pic? Scutes that are going to shed? Mineral deposits?
