I could be wrong, but it doesn't look like you have a heater or a UVB light. If you have a pretty warm house and the water temp stays at a good level then i guess you don't really need a heater but you definitely need to get them a UVB source. I would also say to get rid of the gravel, there have been so many awful stories of people who's turts ingested gravel, it's just not worth the risk. Do a search on gravel if you don't believe me. It will also help keep the tank cleaner as an added bonus. You can leave the larger river rocks, they won't hurt anything and it will give them something to mess with. What a cute little turtle smile in the last pic!

You always need a heater... houses usually get colder at night, and the water temp can fluctuate.. it is very vital to their health. You can buy a cheap heater at walmart for $10.00

Don't forget to remove the gravel. Anything that can fit in the turtles mouth is dangerous. Turtles have been x-rayed showing their stomachs full of gravel. They wound up dying because nothing could pass through. Very sad.

Yes, definitely lose the gravel ASAP. Too many threads on here from people whose turtles ate gravel with disastrous results.

Except for that, I'd say your tank is gorgeous! I love all the green - looks so natural. Your turtles are beautiful too.

Don't let Jack bully little Joel. You could feed him out of the tank and, while he's out, feed Joel. That way Joel would get his fair share!

Only other thing I can think of is that, if there is any way to position the heat lamp so it shines more directly down on the basking area as opposed to at an angle, that would be helpful. Better for sensitive turtle eyes.

How big is your tank and how big are your turtles? For two turtles, it's especially important to be sure they have plenty of room so they don't start fighting.

DividyY is right as well as Spotsmama I removed all my gravel becasue of all the stories I heard. You never know when you turtle might swollow one and then it can be dangourous!! I would remove the gravel and replace with some big river rocks, something big! You dont want a turtle with gravel in their belly!
