turtlehaven: I believe the way to do it would be to open up that album and paste the url in a post .. notice her first url has no picture file attached.. so it takes you right to the main album page.

Our TURTLE and MRS.TURTLE cozy on an early morning

Image

MRS.TURTLE flipped after trying so hard to escape from the tiny nesting tank that we set her up. She is probably just not pregnant yet.

WHOA msmelanie, we need to make that avatar a bit smaller! PM me if you need help :)

Its always uncomfortable for me to look at turtles flipped on their back... is there a heat source over the nesting area?

Also is that wood on the basking area? (That's not healthy)

Ok, I'm lost here.. wood is unhealthy for a turtle?? I was watching a show on our local TV station .. it was showing the local game commission making basking docks for the turtles in the lakes around here. They made them from wood and pvc pipes. And don't they bask on logs and such in the wild?? I mean I can understand if its pressure treated.. because of the chemicals used but if its a natural would with no chemicals/preservatives?

Yes that is what I thought so too. I mean we discussed and made sure the wood is not treated and its smooth before we had it built so they dont get hurt by it. Also the first time I ever saw turts (which inspired me eversince to own one) is basking on a very old wooden basking area that was seasoned by time...so I thought that was okay the whole time.

Certain wood that contain resins (pine, cedar, for example) is not good to use because they will leach into the water. I wouldn't hesitate to use driftwood, corkbark (which I do use) or another natural wood that's moisture resistant.

What kind of wood are you using for those legs?
