Ok, we (flutterby, Eric and I) finally got the basking area to the point it can be used. It still needs some tweaking so it suits me but it works and they like it and used it right away. I'll post updated pics once I get it done completely.. :)

looks great! One suggestion tho. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid now since Rocks' great escape last week, but I think you should extend that barrier wall a bit more. If he gets curious and peeks around the corner, he might make a run for it.

It extends past but we're going to be making the wall to about to the middle of the tank, I think she said.

LOL oh trust me.. that's the first thing on my list.. they can't get around it though the picture is a bit decieving.. but well I don't want to take a chance.

The ramp doesn't reach all the way to the wall there's a space between it and the wall .. and then space from the actual basking area to the edge of the wall ... but as I said, I am going to extend it.. just have to figure out how the heck to stablize it all :)

Put an electric fence around it, if they try to escape, I bet they will only try once. Okay, okay don't hit me, I'm just joking.

That is an interesting look, I like that and tinysliders.

cam722.. one thing to keep watch for are your lights. if it's remotely possible that your turt diving into the water off the non-ramp part of your dock could splash up at them, you'll be in for some trouble.

Nope, its not possible. They (the lights) are in the same place they were with the other ramp .. no chance or problem. As I said, the pictures are a bit deceiving :)
