Anyways, the short nails say your turtle is a female. Males have well, Freddy Kruger claws XD
Other ways to tell males and females apart:
1. Males have longer snouts and long, fat tails, female have short snouts and shout tails.
2. A male's plastron is curved inward, female have flat plastrons.
3. Males don't grow larger than 9 inches, female grow up to 12 inches.
