My baby, always loving to get close to the thermometer

Yeah, kinda wana see if it eats outside of water, but I guess not. SO! Just stuck a piece of ham on her mouth.

*For the two pix with the turtle in between the window and the screen, she went in there herself. I didn't shove her or push her. She was in there too long, so I had to take her back out.

3 and 6 are the cutest!! she looks funny with that ham sticking out of her mouth... Do you usually feed her ham? Do you keep the baby and the adult in the same tank?

Also, is that thermometer right? 20 degrees celsius? 68 degrees fahrenheit?WAY too cold! 75-78 degrees is what the temp of the water should be.. Do you have a heater?

Yeah, I need a heater. And no, I keep the adult one and the baby one separate. I sometimes put them together to get use to each other, but I'm there to watch them when they're in the same tank.

You should get one soon, they might try to hibernate and thats not good or recommended when it can be avoided.. try getting a cheap one or something, for like $20.00 at walmart.. its good you keep them separate.. the adult might harm the baby...

do you have proper lighting?

I haven't measured her in a while. She's probably like around 6-7 inches long from the top of shell to the bottom.

No, I don't have the lighting I need at home. But instead I take them outside when the sun is up. Not often though, once in a while. :?

Once in a while isn't sufficient. You can get a uvb bulb for $15 or $20

so you havent had any lighting, or a heater, you have an insufficient tank, for how long? Im very suprised that adult res is still alive.. :( :( :( :( You should get the right things they need now, or give them to someone who can provide for them :(

I know... :( I'm amazed myself when I found out about all the details of having a RES as a pet. Man, I think it's 8 years since I had the adult one.

Yeah, long story. The window door was open (you slide it from left to right). And i believe that picture was taken during the summer, and I happen to have left the window door open. I guess she wanted to hide or something, so she ended up in such a tight spot.
