Thanks. Well, I hope I can get it to look nice too. But I think the turtles will enjoy having the two different tanks to explore and play in. :) And yea I do enjoy building stuff. I just wish I had more time to work on it. Speaking of which, what am I doing here?? I've got to get back to work! :?

Today I cut some boards to go behind the 90gal and 40gal tanks as part of the walls for the new basking deck which is made out of plastic egg crate light diffuser material.

Here is a shot of the backside of the back board for the 90gal tank. I used some wood pieces on the back to hold the board in place on the tank rim once it's turned around...

Here's the back board for the 40gal connecting to the 90gal...

And here are the two boards in place over the two tanks and temporarily screwed together. I'm going to cover the boards with some terrarium background...

In this picture you can see where I've drawn the line where the ramp will go connecting the 40gal to the basking deck on the 90gal...

So I'm off for a few days. I'll start working on the plexiglass front walls for the basking deck and ramp next week along with a sheltered section under the basking deck for the live plant section. Then I can add the water. :)

Thanks! I'm using Webshots.com now to host my pics. I wonder if that has anything to do with the red X's? hmmm... let me know if any of you still can't see the pics.

I was thinking that using different heights for the two tanks would have a neat effect, but now I'm wondering if the turtles will be more likely to just stay in the 90gal since the ramp to the 40gal will be longer. Well, I'll give it a try this way and if it looks like they are avoiding the long ramp, I'll raise the height of the 40gal stand with some cement blocks.

Oh that looks great! I'll bet that once they get used to it they'll follow each other back and forth.
I can't see the latest pics either. :?
