Sounds like a plan. They may be able to haul themselves up and out on the side that's open.

They don't try to escape really, but i am gonna make the changes i was talking about soon.

Did you have instructions for the canopy, or was it your own design?

I've seen set-ups here and there that gave me ideas,but in the end it was my design.

The whole idea was to show people you don't need $1000+ to give your turtles a better place to live.All you need to do is be able to research DIY on google,stalk CL for a good deal, and have the will (and time) to build.
I'm pretty sure at least 50% of the members that preach the 10 gal x inch rule, don't really practice it.But i'm not here to judge, but to say "roll up your sleeves people, if i can do it, so can you"

I overly practice it, my 125 gallon has one 5 inch turtle in it.

I am glad that more people are going through the efforts of upgrading their tanks and showing that it doesn't have to be expensive. I think it'll help the newbies with the shock when they hear 100 gallon tank.
