we feed buddie mudd minnows, shrimp and fiddler crabs. She does eat turtle pellets as treats though, so it is possible to get them eating fake food.

Anyone know if it is legal to keep diamondback terrapins in Connecticut?

Laws here change from state to state, so i still don't get the "United" part of the country's name.....But anyway.....That's a whole new thread
In NJ you need to get a "hobby" permit to keep any turtle besides eastern painted and snappers. It costs $10 a year and they come inspect your enclosures. If you want to breed turtles you need an "animal dealer" permit that costs $100 a year and you can ONLY sell turtles to other states and not in NJ.

You got a good point about the "United".
I am now glad I don't live in smoggy, polluted New Jersey with permit laws up the wazoo. Sorry if you love Jersey Joe, but, that's just how I feel.
I know wood turtles in Connecticut can't be taken from the wild... But I don't if captive bred ones are okay. Not that I am interested in a wood turtle, but I like to know the rules.

Your only allowed 2 eastern painteds in pa and need a permit.....ahahah Shhhh
