That's VERY sad then......I wouldn't think a "grown up" would have a fit cause someone pointed out a defect on their turtle. You learn something new everyday about people.Specially those you would never care to talk to in real life lol

Jozzep calm down already, its just the way you word your posts that always gets ppl in a frenzy, bcuz you have some what of a know-it-all perfectionist attitude. We are all on here bcuz we want to love care for and educate others about our love and learning for turtles, not to tell ppl to bask in their ignorance and lack of knowledge of their RES. You dnt earn respect that way and your gonna need help sooner or later and if you keep putting ppl down now, whose gonna help solve your problems then?

I APOLOGIZE for any rude comments about your turtles Jeff, they're awesome!

Moose, you hit the nail on the head with that one.

What I really don't understand is, why put a money value on a living, breathing animal? It's like, well this animal has this trait but not this, or this animal has this little imperfection so it should be a lower price. Imperfections are what allow both humans and animals/pets to have some individuality, and individuality shouldn't make someone, even a baby DBT, less valuable than any other DBT without split scutes.

If you guys had noticed he had another post sharing that split scutes were almost always a sign of them beinging female. I think that was more of what he was getting at then anything.

First off, I'm not siding with anyone here. If I were to side with anyone it would be Joe based on seniority, and apparent overall knowledge of Diamondbacks. The terrapins are, indeed, nice looking to an average eye (including mine). Joe (jozzep) was simply looking out for you, Jeff. He wanted to make sure that you hadn't paid full price for what may have been described as a "flawless" turtle by making it clear that those "in the know" may describe that as an "imperfect" specimen. It may be inhumane to put a price on creatures having nothing to do with our existence, but it's a business, and that's what salesmen do.

My Kroten (the pastel one) wasn't look good when I bought her...but I have no regret of paying full price on her coz she turns to be a gorgeous pastel RES :)

Your DBT is so cute Jeff :) I wish I can have other slider than RES...but it's hard to find them in here

Hey listen.......I never said it was a "big problem", and i never said it "wasn't cute".
I just made an observation based on the fact that i "breed" DBT, and i don't just see a pic of a baby and go "UUUUUU,AHHHHH,IIIIIII, SOOOO CUTE!!"
If i knew this many people would have had sissy fits, instead of learning , i would have never said anything and left you in your ignorance.

I'm seriously getting tired of ALL these turtle forums. I realize more and more that i'm dealing with little kids, and you have to watch what you say and what you do,cause you hurt their feelings and bla bla bla.
I got better things to do with my time........

Man, do I DARE post new pictures of my DBT?? LOL...

Anyways, I say we all drop this conversation, and move on...like I said, water under the bridge..

Jozzep, thank you for your knowledge, and I'm sure you've helped alot of people in a lot of places, and I'm sorry if I came off as "throwing fist", I just felt like you were "talking down" to me...just a cross in communication....it's done and over with..

Everyone else thank you for your remarks/complements...

I say we drop this now, because there are ALOT of new turtle owners out there that I would hate for them to be pushed away from the/OUR site because this just so happens to be the first thread they fall upon....

Have a great weekend everyone!!
