Here is a pic of his right side.

Here is his belly. He is using his long neck and head to try and flip over.

This one is a little blurry, but he looks so neat hanging his feet and tail down when he floats around.

This pic is my favorite so far! I am a guy, but he looks cute. Way to much turtle for his shell!

I don't know much about snappers, but shouldn't the water be shallow? From what I've read, they aren't very good swimmers and the water should be shallow enough that they only have to stand up a bit to get air....

Aw. I don't think he is ugly at all. Although where I live, I definenatly wouldn't want one. We have nice little Alligator Snapping Turtle visitors on occasion. They find our catfish very appealing. -.-;

Such a Sweet Snapper... If he is an Alligator Snapper, Their Natural Habitat is the Mississippi River..

That is definetly a common or florida snapper not alligator and that looks like to much water to me. As they get older more water is ok but when they are youger they can tire very fast and drown. If it was just the angle of the pic then nm

Now, come on, look at this turt basking. How can anyone say that he doesn't look sweet. It's kind of funny, he is the only turt of his kind in the tank and the only one that gets all the way up on the dock and basks, our res are so shy, even though they are a lot older and bigger than our snapper, they will not get all the way up on our basking area. But our hatchling snapper is not shy at all and he crawls all the way up an seems to love it. We have a different tank just for our snapper, but we do put him in with our res because there tank has uvb and uva. One thing that we have seen with our young snapper is that he is a really good swimmer, and that they do like to bask all the way out of the water. Give a snapper a chance.

Ok, that top pic of him on the log changes my whole opinion on how creepy he first looked to me. That is just too cute! It's like he's all wore out from getting up there. :)
