They do actually have two visible keels apart from the center one--but they have to be totally dry and in the right lighting to cast a shadow in order for them to show up on my camera. You can kind of see a dark line in a few of the posted photos, which is not a marking or scute line but a ridge. We have some newer (unposted) pics where it shows even more. It just remains to be seen whether they fade away or get more pronounced as they get older.

So I guess FOR NOW, they're Reeves (which Chelonia's care guide says are very easy to keep)--until they change their minds and grow into something completely different.

There's another thing you could do to try to get them ID'd: Send a email to tortoisetrust@aol.com Include:

1. Your country/region

2. Precisely where you got/found the animal.

3. Clear close-up pictures of

a) a side view of the body
b) the top and bottom of the shell
c) a close-up of the head and a leg

This was suggested for IDing found turtles, but if after some time you still don't know for sure, you could give the experts there a try...
