Ok, here's what I don't understand...
You have been a member of this site since October. You have posted on several of the boards, and I have no doubt read a good deal of information on this site. (If you haven't then I really want to know why you spend so much time on here) So how in the world can you come on here now and not realize the conditions that your turtles are living in are so bad? I can't tell you how many times I have seen somebody come on here and have to be told that they need to have their gravel removed. Furthermore, I would be willing to bet that nearly daily someone has to be reminded to get a larger tank because they didn't know better. Suddenly you think it's going to just fly by everyone that you keep two 3+ inch turtles in 35 gallons or less water???? I really don't mean to rant and repeat everything that everyone else has already posted, but I am just flabbergasted!!! In my eyes right now, you are no better than the turtle salesmen who flock from mall to mall telling lies to everyone who wants to buy a turtle. And you want to breed them too??? I just don't know what to think.

look and hope? that still doesn't seem good enough. what is the deal? how old are you, like a teenager or what, i mean that's the way it appears to me. if all you are going to do is look and hope maybe you should find someone to take better care of your turtles because looking and hoping won't ensure that they are getting what they need and that they will survive in that little bitty environment.

I agree, looking and hoping aren't going to get you anywhere. Looking will, doing will, hoping won't. Just like with my turtle, I found my moment and took it when I could to upgrade him. I was given some spare money to do as I wished with and I bought everything I could for him to upgrade. If you live with your parents which I am guessing you do, tell them to upgrade to the highest possible now to save later because if you just keep slowly upgrading it will cost you more in the long run. So just upgrade or give your turtles to someone else who can properly take care of them.

See the thing is.. many of us have had to upgrade after finding out that our setup wasn't sufficient. It's not the fact that you'll need to do it a bit at a time that's bothering it's the attitude. Maybe it's just how little you type or how you really don't "talk" that gets a bit irritating. One would hope that the reason you come here is to find out how to properly care for them.. but it's not just enough to know, you have to start doing some of it. We can offer advice/opinions but what good does it do if you don't want to listen or keep trying to find someone to give you another answer one that you like better. I know we've offered less expensive options for some things, but if you can't even handle doing those, I'm not sure whatelse we can tell you to help.

don't you have parents? do they just sit around all day and do nothing? ask them to help you, being 11 sucks, no income, but i'm 13, and i managed with no money spent on my part, and all thanks to my parents, now go get them to help you.

offer to do some extra work around the house. I know my parents were never big on giving us money for doing nothing. You could also get a paper or flyer route. That's what we had to do.

Maybe you could ask for a new set up for your birthday! I know that my parents are usually clueless when it comes to deciding what to get me and they ask. Make suggestions! If not that, my grandparents usually give me money...make the most of it. Believe it or not, we are here to help.

Yeah for your birthday ask for gift cards to the pet store so that you can get what your turtle needs! In fact I'm going to ask for some for my Birthday in May so I can get some anacharis *always a need in this tank, they go through it like there is no tomorrow* and maybe some more shrimp, filter parts, etc. It's always a big help when you get stuff like that when you know no matter what you are going to need it.

It looks like the tank is 5 gallons.

BTW: Do not let the heater touch ANYTHING in the tank.
