Not all RES have red ears. Some have a variation of red, some don't have red ears at all. Cute hatchlings.

If it is a gray patch it could be a fungus. If it is very small, you could just buy a "Dr. Turtle sulfa rock" to put in their tank.
I got a hatchling from someone, and it had a small gray patch on the shell I put one of these in the tank and it didn't spread. If it looks like it is spreading, you have a problem.

Are you referring to that one scute on the left side of the turtle on the left? It looks like the scute was perhaps injured. I'd keep the area clean, perhaps with diluted Betadine, keep the tank water clean and make sure they bask under proper lighting. How big is the tank they're in?

It's not uncommon for RES to have the extra red stripe on the top of the head. Some have it, some don't. It's kind of pretty, don't you think?

Your little turtles are very beautiful. Looks like they're all decked out for Christmas in red and green!

Do not use "Dr. Turtle", as that is not proven to be effective in any measure. Your RES also has hints of red on it's nose ;)

My Donatello looked almost exactly like that when he was that little. The three dark orange stripes and two dots on either side of the bridge of his nose are still really noticeable and distinguishable.

Yeah, my RES have a stripe that goes down the center of there heads.
It starts out yellow in between there eyes, and fades into red as it goes farther back down there heads!!!
It is really cool looking, and I hope it stays that way for awhile!! :D :D

I've noticed strange red patches on pastel sliders, maybe it's half pastel?
