Thanx David & Zero! You should have seen him when we got him, he was green with algae, his shell was compromised in two spots and he had a low grade infection and skin problems.

It took awhile but with shots, iodine soaks, the right lights and heat and he is so much better. I thought my heart would break when we first got him.
I have told my husband he needs more water. LOL. I do plan on putting more in but I think he is a bit freaked out by all the room he has now. I am also afraid (probably unneccessarily) that he won't be able to get his head out of the water for air, but I noticed today that he seems to float up without having to stand on anything. Should it be about half way full. It's a 50 gallon breeder tank and I have about 25 gallons maybe a little less now.
Have you figured that I still know very little about these guys?
Thanx again for your suggestions they are so valuable to us!
