Well I havn't posted any pictures in a while, so im posting pics now. The pictures below are pictures of my 2 RES's. Tails the big one, and littlefoot the little one. This time it also features my oscar and pleco..Magma and Mr.Pleco. Hope you guys enjoy.

Little foot in his dry and heated exploring area. You can compare to his old pics that he has grown quite a bit with his shell turning brown:

This is Tails happily basking until she saw me.

She immediately plunges into the water!

Then she stares her twin down. Tails: Whatchoo lookin' at?

Tails: I like this picture because it makes me look like a giant!

Introducing...Magma and Mr Pleco! (Mr Pleco is bein blocked by Magma's show-offyness)
Image

Heres a size comparison of the 2 (Keep in mind Mr Pleco and Magma are about 4 inches away from each other. They are relatively of the same length):

Here's a close up of Mr Pleco.

Hope you guys had fun! And if you wanted to know about Magma and Mr Pleco:
I got both of them in the same week, 8 months ago. Magma was the size of a guppy while Mr Pleco was very tiny. Upon research, they recommended that if I decided to get a partner for Magma, I had to do it early (Hence I got Mr Pleco within the same week). From what I've read, they are quite intelligent and they have the ability of recognition. They develop this as time goes by with a partner fish. In only 8 short months, Magma has grown to a whopping 7 inches and Mr Pleco is 6-6.5 inches. If you guys have anymore questions, just ask. :)

Yea Magma is cool, he's a hunter that one. When I feed him, he goes berserk and can make quite a ruckus (sand and particles start floating everywhere..sometimes water spills -_-'). I didn't realise at first, but he crunches his pellets really loud, like eating chips, lol. Ive fed him live fish, and no matter how fast they are, he just manages to"vacuum" them instantaneously..and all i see are flying scales! Mr Pleco just picks up his mess.

I wonder how an oscar would do with an adult RES? I used to have a predator fish tank with a pair of oscars, a pair of tinfoil barbs and a big catfish. Then i added a Manguensis Cichlid which was a big mistake. At first I thought he was really cool cause he was such an aggressive feeder. He used to jump out of the water and grab food from my hand. One day one of my friends wanted to hand feed him and the cichlid jumped up and latched onto his finger and wouldn't let go for a couple of seconds. It was pretty funny. He eventually terrorized all the other fish and killed them off one by one. :? The oscars are much friendlier though.

yea cichlids are pretty powerful..did your friends finger bleed, lol. cuz in some cases there has been minor wounds. oscars are pretty aggressive when agitated...so if it went up against and RES, i would imagine it infinitely tackling the RES at high speeds lol. But the shock will be abosrbed by the shell, well some of it. i dunno....mabe if the RES was a certain size? lol, it would be funny if a male RES slashes the oscar hahaha. i dont wanna experiment with mine xD

sorry, ^^'. i didnt mean funny haha, it would be funny weird cuz males dont actually scratch powerfully with ther claws. would that Manguensis Cichlid be a jaguar cichlid? they do look fierce. maybe each fish haver their own aggression level? maybe some oscars are stronger? lol just assuming. isnt it funny how they fight, they go on mouth locks! lol

thats awesome. if you tried to breed, would it be hard since they have such an aggressive nature?
