yeah, the name is Athan. i had a turtle who recently passed away (named Noah) and when he passed I got a new one and named him Athan because it means 'immortal'. It's kind of a joke, but I also like the name.

I have two bottom sucker fishes too. They're pretty dang weird.

I love my turtle. :) he's pretty great.

I've heard a lot of good things about those guys. It's good to know that their customer satisfaction is consistently positive. :) By the way, your post will probably be edited because it's against forum policy to post links to anyone who sells turtles. I think Steve is trying to steer people to the shelters instead since there are so many unwanted RES out there. But yeah for those exotic specimens there are some decent breeders out there. It's good to know who the good ones are so we can avoid the many disreputable dealers too.

Yeah it's hard to keep the different policies straight between different forums. But that's what the mods are for! :D At least you didn't post a link to [that other terrible turtle site that sells only sick and dying animals]! :P

As to buying turtles, some people are going to buy turtles on line , like i did before i joind this site, some members here prob. purchase there turtles from pet shops or on line, I think it is a good way to find the right ones to purchase from .most people who are intrested in turtles are probably going to purchase at least one at some point or another . the question is always asked where can you buy a turtle, what is a good site to buy a turtle , i dont think it is a bad idea to steer someone in in the right direction to a good breeder. this way they can avoid the bad ones. and you can still educate about adoption,we dont have to mention who the bad ones are. and in opinion and experiance, with posting of pictures , condition of shiping and arival ,mention a few of the good ones.
I would have liked to known of a trustworthy breeder before i made a purchase. Just My Opinion

Hey madmax1, I did delete that post. We don't have anything against good and reputable breeders but we do want to avoid this forum becoming a point where people go off to purchase turtles.

If there is a real demand for a good/bad breeder list then we will seriously consider it.
