Very nice! I love DBTs. They are hard to come by in BC, but I always keep my eye open for a breeder! :D

All 4 are female Northern DiamondBack Terrapins about 7" in length. They were rescued from a fish market in chinatown early summer. They're doing great, only problem is that i CANNOT get them to eat commercial turtle food (pellets, krill). These gals only eat fish, shrimp, clams and their diet can be expensive!Tried soaking pellets in tuna juice, they don't even smell them.
Although they have blessed me with about 20 viable eggs that should be hatching in a month or so, and those hatchlings will be rehomed for a fee to help aid with the expenses.
All in all they have great personalities and they get hand fed, so every time my hand is close to the water, i have to watch for them biting me (they don't hurt lol).
The most beautiful thing with this species is the variety of colors in skin and shell within one sub-species.It is believed that all 6 sub-species might have hybridized with each other when large quantities were released after a law approved in the 60's that put a ban on consuming terrapins in the restaurant trade.Obviously the law isn't being respected if you can still find them in asian fishmarkets.

Really Nice! I really like the first one the best. Her shell/skin pattern seems to be the lightest.

As per looks she's my favorite as well. She has white skin with black lines and the shell more on the brown side.
As per personality, the last one is the most personable.

These particular ones are cause they're not captive breed. They require natural foods and brackish water.CB ones will eat pellets and can be kept in freshwater even if brackish is always first choice.
