Let me find my tape measure so I can post the dimensions...

Ok! I got the dimensions measured! Then, since I couldn't take a picture and send it to my computer, I took the liberty of making this image in paint:

NOTE: Not to scale

Here's the actual pix (NOTE: without water or anything besides lid.

This is a half foot ruler

It seems really thin in length. I'm pretty sure it's big enough to support a new hatching for a couple years!

My friends dad gave it to me. I also got a water heater, a lid with lights, two water filters, and some rocks big enough that the turtle cant eat them. All free. I just had to dig it all out of his shed. All free :)

Oh yay! I also tested it, and it holds up well! Another question though, how much of the 20 inches do I fill up? I know that I want to leave a little for basking area.

Well since I am going to get a hatching, would it be best to wait with the turtle topper?

I can have a regular basking stand and wait for my turtle to hit 4 inches or whatever.

Ok, sounds good! So here is my checklist

-water testing kit
-UVB lamp
-UVB bulb
-Turtle topper
-Turtle food backup

I guess I can wait with the turtle topper, since its the only non-necessary thing. I'll get like $75 saved up for everything else, then get the turtle topper.

o and you dont need any special fixture use a clamp lamp or something and the most expensive things are the uva/uvb bulb its like 20-30 bucks
foods like 5 bucks or lower
cheap clamp lamps like 10-20
heat bulb fixture is like 20
and bulb deppends
