I'm not sure Pickle's EXACT age, but he was a small hatchling the day I got him Dec 25 2007, the date I joined here! So I put him at about 2 1/2 years old.
Gherkin I have had since the day after he hatched, October 5th 2009.

This is a picture I took of the set up when it was first finished. The plants are a bit more grown in now and There is a Dracinea in the corner behind the bowl but it's pretty much the same. If you look, Blue is to the right of center near the log. There is another frog in there I call "Green" but she hardly EVER comes out. That's a 29 gal tank by the way. Some info on the web will tell you to keep White's in a tall terraium like other species of tree frogs, but I have tried both vertical and horizontal set ups and find White's do well in a set up like this one. They are a heavy frog for a tree frog (second only to Cuban's if I remember correctly) and do their hunting on the ground and the low branches. Blue spends most of his time sitting on the edge of that water dish.

That is FRANCIS.
He's a Pyxie Frog, otherwise known as an African Bullfrog. Very big and ill-tempered. This guy isn't even done growing. They are the second largest frog species in the world.

Yeah this is the type of frog that I caught not too long ago. He was the size of a bucket..not kidding...

hes called a Sonoran Desert Toad

DESCRIPTION: up to 7", one of the largest native toads in North America. Upper body is uniform olive color. Has large parotoid glands behind eyes and a white tubercle (bump) behind the mouth on each side. Male's call is surprisingly weak and sounds like a low-pitched ferry whistle.
NATURAL HISTORY: Previous name was Colorado River Toad. Occurs in a variety of habitats, from desertscrub to oak-pine woodland and may be seen some distance from water (also commonly found in swimming pools). A potent toxin is released from the parotoid glands and other glands that can kill dogs (look for pawing at the mouth and excessive salivation and wash out mouth with water). As with all amphibians, always wash your hand after handling.
