I finally got around to loading up some pictures of Zipper's new basking area that I finished a few weeks ago. I also got a few neon tetra's to put in there just to see how long the will last. So far she has only eaten one but that was right after I put them in and they didn't see her as a threat yet. The others learned rather quickly to stay away. Zipper has a bit of a tough time trying to catch them so hopefully they'll last a little while.
The platform is just an 18x18 ceramic tile that I cut down to fit on the inside lip of the tank. All of the walls are cut plexiglass glued to the tile. I just used double sided tape for the terrium liner on the walls. The ramp is a piece of plexiglass that I heated up and bent then glued it to the platform. The rubber grips are all-weather grips meant for siderails for on a pickup truck.
And yes, the plants on the walls are fake. I thought they looked a lot more interesting than just bare walls. I might get a few more to put up there to close things off a bit more.
Looks amazing! I'm going to build my turtles a really nice ramp like yours when I get the chance. But it sucks because I don't have any materials to bend things, cut, etc. I'm sure I can find a way though..
