While traveling the public transit system in Philadelphia, it's not uncommon to see people selling exactly that setup for 10 dollars a pop. They even carry those "critter-keepers" around by the little handle when it's in the low 50s outside. It's about business to them, not about bring people a healthy pet or even explaining to them the serious needs of the turtles. I would guess they don't know the first thing about proper care.

Nice save, good luck.

i found that plastic tank are pet supplies plus listed for $3.99 with that same gravel for about $2.99 for $60 bucks you can purchase a....

10 gallon tank $10 (at meijers)
bags of gravel $6.99 (2 or 3 bags anywhere)
reptile heater $19.99 (pet Supplies Plus)
Reptile Filter $19.99 (Pet Supplies Plus)
Turtle Food $4.99 (Big Jar at Petco)
Basking Platform Small size $8.99 (Pet Supplies Plus)

Everything you probebly will need without the lamps for only about $71......
and im not also not perfectly correct on the price. some of the items listed above are probebly each a couple bucks cheaper then i listed. so with the lamps u would probebly end up at around $80 to $100....

these B!tch is crazy to be selling it for that price. Shes obviously trying to hussle you and make 30 times the money back of what she paid for it ?

the tub ? $3
gravel ? $2
turtle food ? $5
two turtles ? $14 for both ?????

she didnt even spend more then $25 dollars trying to house two baby red ear sliders ? is she insane or incredibily stupid ????? i would contact her and offer $20 bucks for only the turtles and tell her to go get F##KED. Go spend your money elsewhere more wisely. Thats a verey poor investment. I feel bad for those poor turtles and i really hate a Piece of [----] like that who would do such a thing but its also the persons fault who sold her those turtles.

The girl probably didn't know any better, and if you think about it, if Sir Max doesn't buy these, the next person will probably just keep them in that same wretched container without lamps, heater, filter, etc.

I suspect Sir Max knows the price is high even at $60 but just wants to help these turtles out. I say good for him!

It is good of Sir Max to rescue the turtles, but what if the girl is doing it on purpose for profit?

i would say the tub and turtles were given to her for free, she doesnt want them, and wants to make money off of it.

knowing this city and what i know of this lady, the new kitten probably wont be spayed.

cats are way more expensive int eh long run then turtles i think.
