I got these teeny tiny red sliders from Chinatown on Friday. They both were in a very small tupperware container. They were covered in fungus and they were terrified of everything. Only a few days later, they are eating well and basking and active!
Anyway, here are my tiny turtles, Stoli and Jager.

hahaha I will definitely take lots and lots of pictures! :D

I have them in a really basic plastic storage bin right now. It has all rounded corners. Since they were so sick when I got them, I wanted to make the setup more like a quarantine. The fungus that was on them is already almost gone! They get more active each day. I'm going to continue treating them for at least another week tho, just to make sure. Then when they're healthy I'll make them a legit home. I don't think I'm going to make a whole decorated aquarium. It's most likely going to stay very minimalist.

:D
I figured a minimalist setup would allow them more space, as well as it being sooo much easier to clean. I'm used to building fish tanks and having to cycle them and all that fun stuff. But I figured turtles don't really need a cycled tank since I can take them out of the tank to clean it. Plus a turtle poop cycling tank just doesn't sound good.

I gave them lettuce for the first time and they weren't picky about it at all! They very well to new foods. Which keeps amazing me. I've never kept an animal that actually accepted new types of food.

I saw a type of commercialized food at the pet store, another version of the pellets I usually give them, except this one's made of gammarus, anchovies and shrimps. Is this okay?
