My baby turtles, Jager and Stoli, are slowly but surely getting healthier. They swim around a lot now and eat heartily. So, I decided to get them a bin that's a bit bigger to allow them more swimming room. When they get even healthier, I'm going to get them a new basking place and make the water level higher. I'm slowly working them up to how much water they should be in because they still get tired very easily.

I just put them in here a couple hours ago so they are still exploring all the new additional swimming space. The orange stuff scattered around are bits of carrot left over from their dinner.

Do you have a regular bulb for heat, or just the UVB? Did they have R.I's? They need some real or plastic plants to hide and rest in.

The lamp actually heats up because it's made of metal and it just radiates. I'm going to get a heat bulb when it gets cooler out, but it's been over 85 degrees in this room for the last few weeks (usually more like 90+) and I don't want to boil them. They amazingly didn't have any ri when I got them. They had very unhappy fungi. The darker one has some shell rot damage that is finally starting to heal up. The other just had fluffy white fungus.

I got them some little floating plastic plants and a calcium bone today. Since they're so small, I broke off a piece of the calcium bone. They seem to really like the fake plants :). Also, they're really starting to get used to me!! They poke their heads out of the water when I look in the bin now, instead of running away.
