Remembar me? Yeah, one year later, the tank is almost ready! Here is a video of what I have so far

Here are some pictures.

Here are my main questions. Is the water too high? Would an RES get out if it got on the docking station? I'm just going to get a male at 4 inches I believe. Also, is there anything I need not mentioned in the video? Any help would be appreciated!

Looks good. I think you're right about the water level... it will have to be lowered or a barrier put in place. As you mentioned, you do need a heater (Ebo Jager's are nice) and you need a UVB light.

Ok, and one more thing. When I left the heat lamp on for, like, 10 minutes, it smelled like something was burning. Is that normal?

Well, people have had various problems with the zoo med dock. Did you take the temperature of the dock?

Zoo med dock? I had a thermometer, but cannot find it. Maybe the docking station is too close to the heater? I really don't want to lower the water any more because it's loud enough as it it, lowering the water more is just going to make it louder...

The plastic dock you have is a zoo med dock. If you can find small retangular plastic pieces, you can use aqaurium silicone and glue it on to the edge of the filter where the water comes out. It then acts as a guid for the water then and stops the water from having to drop so far greatly reducing the noise.

Uuum...would metal work too? And how would I go about getting these pieces of plastic + glue for the filters?

I would probably want to look at different types of basking areas.

Metal is a no go, that can start to rust leach who knows what into the water. The glue is normal aquarium silicone to hold the plastic in place. As for where you get the plastic who knows. I just have that kind of stuff around my house from broken plastic containers etc.

I might get the turtle topper or just raise the water level and put some blocking near the docking station. I'll just find some plastic and ductape it to the outside. I'll post pics later...
