I see a Chinese Algae Eater :D I love those guys they get SO Mean...

Just wait till that CAE is bigger (they get big fast too)...throw some small fish in there and the CAE will suck parts of there body RIGHT off its crazy. its a MUST to have 2 or more tho because they are VERY Social fish to eachother and you will have fun watching them play tag all over the tank with each other. get 2 of them! :D

I might get a pleco or maybe and algae eater or too, since Brixie won't eat the minnows, maybe they will.

Here is the thing about plecos - under 3 inches - they are not going to do the job so well...

At 8+ however, they will do the job amazingly ;)

And yes, you are looking forward to about minimum a foot worth of fish.

Yeah Pleco's get HUGE but it takes a long time. they are a pretty slow growing fish if im correct? I have not kept many. I have seen some HUGEEEEEE Ones tho in pet stores and other peoples tanks.

My original one is close to seven inches now (about 8 months later) and spends most of its time hiding. And then there is the one that survived a friends tank (she left for a month and asked her brother to watch the tank... and he didn't)

And now I have three - its less then an inch, have no idea where it came from since I understand that plecos need sandy mounds to tunnel into for eggs...

If anything the CAE would eat the Pleco, but I doubt even that...

haha right! the CAE's are way aggressive compared to a pleco. They are really fun to watch tho when you have multiple CAEs tho because they play with eachother and they are reallly smart fish. they will chase eachother SUPER fast its crazy to watch and they get a good size too.

Right now my CAE looks like a mental pacient  she swims up and down the sides of the tank rapidly and repeatedly slaps the top of the water. She does this for at least 2 minutes and it looks crazy. I will try to get a vid of this, but can anyone tell me if there is somthing wrong here?

It could be your fish just playing - they do do that...

Or you water could be under airrated (is there alot of water movement?) Bottom feeders tend to only go to the surface for a very few amount of things.

Ohh I got two CAE just because I personally believe all animals want a friend. But I'm glad to hear they are social with their own specie!! Because one of my CAE has been chasing the other and I was worried it was bullying (at first they were super close and wouldn't go anywhere in the tank without each other hahaha) but hopefully it's just "playing tag" as you say.

Is it smart to get one or two more CAE (because they are social)? I've also got 3 Bala Sharks and my tank is 75g. I do realize both species get large. :)
