So in other threads I talked about a turtle/fish habitat and figured if I would show pictures of mine.

First off this is the view of my tank - I can't get a straight on shot, not enough distance between my sons crib and the tank ;)

Now for some pics of the major features inside...

Oh an yes - I am aware that gravel is taboo for some here - I clean it regularly, and thus far my turtles have greatly ignored it. I do have plans in the future with this tank, and the gravel is an interm thing (already had it from a previous fish tank) until I get around to completing the tank (ie money :P)

One of the turtles using the top of the filter as a dry area (dock is in the other corner)

I hand feed my turtles (only way to ensure they all get the proper food without taking them out and feeding separately ;))

And lastly a picture of a box turtle vivarium that I am building for my sons birthday - masked and planted just need to add finishing details like more moss, and small roots and rocks, as well as detail out the water pond (and wait for the plants to grow and add the turtle :P)

dude I like your tank.

My buddy just had a baby not too long ago and he wants a salt water tank and i told him how much thoe cost. but his wife watns a RES.

Dude, I suggest you keep that turtle as long as you can. it will become a part of your family its crazy. your kid wil grown yp ti resepct turtles and how they are such a important part of the sea and all that stuff. Sea Turtles are so much needed right now and are so rare that every little bit helps. Turtles are such great pets! Your kid will love that turtle when he is like 5 or 6!

Thats the idea - I did look into getting a tortoise but all the ones that are available around here either grow much to large (for my place currently) or have environmental requirements that again are a bit much for my current place.

As for the RES - we got them again for my son (and us - hence three ;)) because I had one when I was 5 all the way through to 23 and I missed the lil bugger
