My babies are in such amazing health!! It's taken like seven months, but they are finally able to do almost totally normal turtle things :) I got them a new bin to live in and after a few hours of getting accustomed to it, they seem to really enjoy the new swimming room. This bin is much wider than the last one. Also it being clear is a huge step for them. They used to be way to scared of everything to handle clear sides, but now they welcome the new stimuli! I didn't want to make to big of an upgrade and freak them out, so until they get even stronger, this is their new home. Each bin I get is only like five bucks, so getting new ones every few months really doesn't bother me. And it works really well. Their recovery is amazing to me.
Anyway, here are some pictures of them exploring their new home!

you should consider looking on craigslist for a large tank like 125 gallon amd see if u can get one cheap. that way you can just raise the water level rather than just upgrade bins. although yoru idea does seem to work haha. nice pics

I've considered it, but that would require some new furniture XD. One of the main reasons I'm doing this though is so i can do full water changes every few days. I can just carry this to my bathroom, flush the water down the toilet and scrub it in my bathtub. They were just so icky and sick when I got them that I really want to make sure their systems really get flushed out over time.

I don't mind upgrading as they grow, not when I'm just using like rubbermaid plastic bins. I always make sure the water is high enough that they can always flip themselves around if they end up upside down and they have a decent amount of room to exercise.

Beautiful!!! I would say that at some point you should get a filter and let good bacteria build up for them. Then you'll only need to change a small percentage of the water.

They're sooooo cute. Looks like you've done a wonderful job with them so far. :)

Thank you! :D I'm always so happy when my tiny turtle rehab center gets good feedback from this site. Everyone on here has the most amazing tanks and so much more experience.

And yeah, eventually they'll get a more permanent aquarium-type home. I used to keep small aquariums so I've cycled tanks and stuff before, so hopefully that experience will help when the time comes.

Now when I'm on my laptop, they like to come investigate. They get all excited when I type. It's so funny!

Stoli is SUCH A BITER. He just bites everything always. I think he tries to be aggressive, but he doesn't really know how to be so he just bites me.

yeah this might become a problem XD. he used to bite the other turtle, Jager, but every time he did, I picked him up out of the water and said NO. He definitely didn't understand what was going on but it terrified him enough to make him stop for good. Maybe I'll try training him again? But in a different way cos I don't want him to end up afraid of feeding time XD

He kept trying to get to my laptop, so I took him out and showed him the internet. He was scared of it. Turtle doesn't understand the internet.
