In need a few good sheds. Hopefully the corrections to diet and habitat will help him or her out. 2 inches long now. It's pretty impossible to photograph but he or she has a crooked set of nostrils.

 He/She looks cute in a piggy sort of way(no offense). I can see the snout issue your talking about. Hopefully you can fix that and that sort of hump that's formed on His/Her shell. What was it's previous diet? Or was it born that way?

I think Everglade is just going to have to live with crooked nostrils for the moment, no cosmetic surgery for this turtle yet!

The diet before I received the turtle was overloaded on protein. I've corrected that, cut down on pellets, provide veggies, added calcium, and ordered a Powersun. While the water and basking temps are good, sometimes it's hard to get this one out of the water to bask now that I added fake plants. Everglade loves the plants way more! I need a turtle cam to see what he gets up to when I'm at work.

Oh okay. Its good to know your taking care of him/her and correcting the diet.
If its not a hassle, I find taking my turt outside her tank in the sun for a couple of hours is very good so she can get natural sunlight and burn off some energy. I think it also helps her shed, cause when I pick her back up,I can see some shedding on her plastron(belly) and carapace(top)
Hope Everglade gets better :)

I've been hesitant to take Everglade outside lately because it's been so hot (over 100) but I'm working on a little pool with shade so he won't get fried even in just 15 minutes.

Oh I see, the temperatures here are hot too(mainly 70-87degrees F and sometimes 90 on a hot day). A little pool in the sun is nice, my friend had my RES in a pool(before she gave her to me) with just a couple of pieces of driftwood floating around.
I saw a thread somewhere here, where the person lifted one edge of their pool slightly,so the turtle could bask on that dry spot.
Just keep an eye out for predators, even for birds(we have big water birds like pelicans and cranes),since Everglade is so tiny.
Hope it works :)

Cute turtle. I like the name too. I've never seen a nose like that before, are the nostril openings normal?

The nostrils are definitely very different from the other turtle I had. Those were very defined, very concave. Everglade's nostrils are not side-by-side and not as defined. After I noticed about two weeks ago I was really concerned but there are no weird behavior problems that I can see related to breathing issues. But I'm not an expert obviously. It doesn't look like the type of thing caused by injury early on, but like a genuine birth defect, to my untrained eye. I need a sketch artist around here.
